More cards

Another Live with Love one... I just love these words because that's how I want to live my life! This is for some friends who are getting married this Saturday (and I'm doing the wedding makeup, yay!).

This one is for my mum, who said that being authentic was really important to her this year. I wasn't sure if I should do 'authentic' or 'authenticity' or 'I am always authentic' or something like that, but I liked it as this form of the word, so it is seen as more of a value or quality. I do have ideas to make more personal values cards, as that's what we've been working with in class, and just, everyone has different values so is going to connect with different cards, what is right for me is not necessarily right for everyone. One that I would like to make soon (even just for myself) is Integrity.
I also really like how simple this one is too, I need to remember that simple can still be effective.

And this card is for someone special! I just used rub-on transfers for this one and I love how simple it is. I'm really proud of myself for actually making this one so quickly, I had the idea on Monday night and made it on Tuesday! I'm impressed I'm actually creating more now instead of just talking about it!

I made another card tonight for a friend but haven't photographed it yet. I will get it up in the next few days!

Also my spinach got a bit squashed in all this rain before I could bring it undercover... it was doing so well! I just can't wait for it to get sunny again so it can keep growing and get strong again!

Language warning

I just got back from seeing Lisa and I quickly wanted to share what I made for her a few days ago... After I made it I was kind of hard on myself because it wasn't perfect, but then after taking photos I started to appreciate it more. I like how fun and colourful it is.

I also told her about another card I had made about a month ago:

I wasn't going to post this one but then I figured that anyone who may be reading this blog is grown up enough to deal with it. This came about one night when I was feeling lousy, too lousy to be creative, I had some wonderful ideas of things for friends but I was not in the mood to make anything pretty and perfect.
Then I read this little bit in a book called Walking in this World, in a section called Art is Therapeutic, Not Therapy... this part pretty much talks about working from where we are, rather than waiting to be in the right place to 'create':

'We may feel different after making something. We may see something in a different light, but that inner shift of focus comes from expressing what it is we do feel and see rather than striving to feel and see things differently, with more balance and less sting.'

And it just made me think, right, I want to create, so I'll just work from where I am right now... and actually I'm still very happy with it, and it's just so interesting to know that something can come from another kind of creative passion.

College was great today but quite challenging, I can see how this course is going to be hard when we have to deal with parts of ourselves that we've been able to ignore before. We started to talk about Ecopsychology though which I'm very excited about, and again was reminded how much I want to plant some herbs and veggies! I have to stop talking and just start doing, I think I can get a few things ready this weekend maybe...

Pretty things...

Pretty things make me happy.

Today I bought some new paper and card and I'm loving the colours... the apricot and raspberry together is a new combination for me and oh it's so delicious!
Saturday was so stinking hot and I went to the beach with my family, although we got there quite late, after 7pm so by then it was too cold to actually swim. It is always nice to be near the water though and I got a few good photos.

While I was in Leura I found a new shop called Think Love and met some beautiful people, Catherina and Jerry. I just find it so amazing the people you can meet when you are open to life... talking to them really confirmed that I'm on the right path and I'm happy with where I'm headed! Finding like-minded people, whatever your interest, just makes so much of a difference and keeps you motivated and inspired!

I feel unbalanced and a little crooked

I thought I didn't have anything to say tonight and was just going to post an old photo, but then I remembered I got a free sample from work today! It is the Body Shop Blue Corn Scrub Mask, free samples are always great and my skin is feeling pretty good already =)

Also wanted to mention my latest craft project, a covered notebook for my friend Liss:

These photos were taken before it was all stuck down properly, and I also added hot pink fur to the back cover, but I forgot to take photos of the finished project! Silly me.

The end.

Girly beach adventure!

The weather was perfect for our beach adventure!
Getting up before 8am on a Sunday was hard but totally worth it... the water was so beautiful and it was so lovely to be outside on such a great day. We all took lots of photos, I will hopefully be posting more somewhere soon.
I am hoping for many more beach adventures this Summer!

I've also had lots of crafty ideas lately... too many for me to keep track of! I want to be making things for people, trying lots of new things, like stamping and cardmaking and sewing and crochet and photography... I don't really have time to work on it all at the moment but I'm very excited!

These are some of the little things I've done recently...

Here are some websites you should check out!

My friend Merry's photo blog! Totally inspired me to start a blog and share my stuff:

My cousin Lisa's Flickr account, she takes great photos! We talk lots about crafty stuff and I get so inspired and excited:
