Birthday List

So I just wanted to add some things to my birthday list. This is mostly for my benefit, so I can keep track of the yummy things I would like to own eventually. I'll probably just have to tell mum and dad in person since I don't think they read my blog!

Found a beautiful spiral necklace on Etsy:

Be the Change spiral pendant by lpjewelry

I think it's wonderful. I've had a fascination with spirals lately and mandala images keep coming up in my life so I just really want to pay attention to that for now. Also, such a great message, the quote 'Be the change you wish to see in the world' has really stuck with me recently, so this is just perfect!
It will convert to a bit of money in AU$ and I've been unemployed for so long I really can't justify it. So, birthday list it is.

Last week in college we watched a video interview with Ram Dass and it really gave me a lot to think about. I don't want to try to explain it because I just won't be able to do it properly and probably ruin the message. But I found his book in Borders today, Remember, Be Here Now:It was written in the 70's and is not just a book with heaps of text to read. It has illustrations and seems to be quite simple and easy to understand, it looks awesome.

There are loads of other books I want too but I just can't read them fast enough! So I'll just try and work through what I've got now.

In the middle of reading:

Visioning by Lucia Capacchione - about creating vision boards, set out really simply, what I've read so far is great!

Make your Creative Dream Real
by Sark - I just love Sark's books, they are fun and creative and inspiring! This one has simple steps to work on your creative dream/s in an easy way.

Your Sacred Self
by Wayne W. Dyer - I found this to be really relevant after watching the video at college last week! I haven't read any of his books before but I'm enjoying this one, about getting in touch with your spiritual self and bringing that into your every day life.

Fairywren on Etsy

Fairywren is me! Woo!

So I finally listed some of my cards:

Please go have a look and tell your friends!

My next big challenge is to get the word out there and let people know what I do, so if you have any free marketing suggestions it would be much appreciated!

Clark property

I had a wonderfully relaxing and productive day at Josh's today!

Even though I've been everywhere already I love exploring all the places on his property... this building out the back used to be kennels but is now used by his parents for their office. I love the colour of it and how leafy it is.

This is the little flat around the side of the house... when they were building the house they are in now this was their lounge room, kitchen and bathroom. It hasn't been used for a long time but there's still lots of stuff in there, books and drums and lots of craft stuff, and I love how old and worn the place looks and it just makes me so happy to look around at all the odd bits and pieces inside.

We called this one 'Man and Dog'.

What a wonderful message

Yes yes yes"i really think that we create our own thoughts, and we can create new habits for ourselves with repetition. this print is a visual interpretation of this idea-- we can create more positivity and abundance in our lives by simply changing our thought patterns!"

Sarah Gardner - wowee

It could be because I'm pretty tired at the moment but Sarah Gardner's prints almost made me cry when I found them. I'm just so excited and in awe that artists are creating such beautiful works that feel so right to me.

I would love to be supporting these artists who I really believe are spreading such wonderful, positive messages by buying more prints but I just don't have the spare money for it at the moment.

Also I am feeling a little bit intimidated by all this amazing work I have found recently and don't feel like mine compares at all. But I guess I should just start somewhere so I'm doing something. Nothing will happen if I never start because I'm too scared.

You can check out more of Sarah's stuff on her Flickr page.

Productive Friday

I have had a really busy few days, but it's all been very satisfying!

On Friday I had a day at home preparing for the weekend, Tia and Simon's wedding on Saturday and Yasmin's tea party on Sunday. I knew this was the only time I had to bake some cupcakes for the tea party and I made some delicious lemon icing which was new and successful!

I also had to clean all my brushes and get all my supplies in order for the wedding makeup... I haven't done it professionally in quite a while but it reminded me how proud I am of my beautiful kit and brush roll! I enjoyed taking the time to sit down and go through each brush and then clean the leather.

Oh and can I please tell you about this wonderful artist I have just found? Aimee of Artsyville produces such wonderful ideas and designs... I am so excited to have found her and love quite a few of her prints! I will be buying one very soon. When I decide on just one.

Oh and check out her blog! Ohh yes I love it.

More cards

Another Live with Love one... I just love these words because that's how I want to live my life! This is for some friends who are getting married this Saturday (and I'm doing the wedding makeup, yay!).

This one is for my mum, who said that being authentic was really important to her this year. I wasn't sure if I should do 'authentic' or 'authenticity' or 'I am always authentic' or something like that, but I liked it as this form of the word, so it is seen as more of a value or quality. I do have ideas to make more personal values cards, as that's what we've been working with in class, and just, everyone has different values so is going to connect with different cards, what is right for me is not necessarily right for everyone. One that I would like to make soon (even just for myself) is Integrity.
I also really like how simple this one is too, I need to remember that simple can still be effective.

And this card is for someone special! I just used rub-on transfers for this one and I love how simple it is. I'm really proud of myself for actually making this one so quickly, I had the idea on Monday night and made it on Tuesday! I'm impressed I'm actually creating more now instead of just talking about it!

I made another card tonight for a friend but haven't photographed it yet. I will get it up in the next few days!

Also my spinach got a bit squashed in all this rain before I could bring it undercover... it was doing so well! I just can't wait for it to get sunny again so it can keep growing and get strong again!
